MoRide Mauritius SEO Case Study: From a Compromised Website to 112% Organic Growth

MoRide Mauritius is a taxi and travel services brand helping visitors arrange airport transfers, local journeys, private tours and travel experiences across Mauritius. The challenge was not simply getting more traffic. The website needed a stronger technical foundation, better commercial visibility, and a content system capable of reaching travellers earlier in their planning journey.

The Starting Problem

  • When we began, MoRide had no dependable content engine supporting its core taxi and airport-transfer services.
  • Commercial pages had limited topical support.
  • Several multilingual and overlapping URLs needed better crawl control.
  • The website had also been affected by malware.

That malware issue had to be dealt with before growth work could move forward safely. We identified the infection, cleaned the website, and restored a more reliable foundation for users and search engines. It was the kind of situation where the structured recovery approach behind our penalty removal agency in London service becomes relevant: remove the underlying risk first, then rebuild visibility on clean foundations.

What We Changed

Once the website was stabilised, we rebuilt the search foundation through our technical SEO services, reviewing crawlability, indexation, XML sitemaps, URL structure and the relationship between service pages, multilingual sections and blog content.

We then strengthened the commercial landing pages around the searches most valuable to MoRide, including taxi services, airport transfers, hotels and island tours. Our on-page SEO approach improved targeting, relevance, headings, metadata, and search-intent alignment across priority URLs.

The biggest expansion came through content. We built 20 new articles around the full Mauritius visitor journey, covering travel planning, destinations, transport questions and mobility-led searches. Internal links and contextual CTAs then connected informational guides with taxi, transfer, and tour pages, giving the content a commercial purpose without turning every article into a sales page.

The Result

Organic Search users increased from 977 to 2,074, a 112.28% increase in the latest 90-day comparison. Google Search Console also recorded 864 clicks and 56.1K impressions across six months, with an average position of 13.9.

Commercial searches also moved onto page one. “taxi mauritius” reached an average position of 4.38, while “mauritius taxi transfers” reached 3.48. New informational content began creating additional search entry points beyond the homepage and core service terms.
